RestGo is an innovative app created for Israeli travelers abroad. It helps users discover restaurants recommended by other Israelis in any destination. Recommendations are tailored based on personal taste, location in the city, and user ratings. Restaurants are displayed in a list or on a map, depending on user preference. Each restaurant page includes reviews, menu, photos, and distance from the user's location. Once a restaurant is selected, the app provides AR-based navigation to guide the user directly to it.
During the registration process, the user is asked to select their preferred cuisine, dietary requirements (such as kosher), and any allergies. This information allows the app to more accurately tailor the restaurant recommendations for each user. The registration is relatively quick to enable users to find a restaurant as soon as possible. Once the process is complete, nearby restaurants at the user’s destination will be displayed on screen according to their preferences.
The restaurant view is displayed on a split screen - the upper part shows the restaurants on a map, while the lower part displays them in a list. At any time, the user can expand their preferred view using a widget located at the center of the screen, which allows switching between display modes. Additionally, results can be filtered based on various preferences such as distance, price range, and more.
After selecting a restaurant, users can view reviews from other users, the menu, rating, distance from their current location, and also have the option to contact the restaurant. To navigate to the restaurant, the user simply needs to tap the "Go" button at the bottom of the screen, and an arrow will immediately appear, guiding them to the restaurant using AR technology.
The research process included defining the problem, conducting market research, and distributing a questionnaire to 150 respondents. This was followed by defining the solution. The next stage involved creating a persona, a user scenario, a detailed user flow, and presenting the app through wireframes. Finally, the app was designed, branded, and a prototype was created.
